Our newsletter is published monthly.   Our goal is  to  provide a behind the scenes look at all the facets and aspects of promoting a bluegrass festival.  Hopefully you will find it interesting, perhaps educational, and maybe even fun to follow our progress during the year.

SKIATOOK BLUEGRASS NEWSLETTER

I hope you are getting fired up for the Festival! It is less than 3 months away. I have a very good feeling that this will be our “breakout year”. We will not be battling the heat, our festival grounds are complete, our bands are outstanding, and we are receiving a very positive response on the web site and face book. If you are not already a friend of the “Skiatook Bluegrass Festival” face book-----please join and have your friends join as well. Presently, we have 300 friends our goal is at least 500.

While on face book, check out our new logo created by Board member, Paul Gunderson. We wanted to tie in Skiatook’s most prominent feature (the lake) with the festival. The banjo IS the setting sun and the setting sun IS the banjo—pretty cool. Hopefully the logo will be on our web site soon.

The economy is effecting our budget i.e. sponsorships but I am confident that we will meet our needs. We have expanded our “comfort zone” to cover many businesses that have not been approached before. I am focusing on $250 sponsors. Please contact me ASAP if you know a business or individual that may be willing to participate.

We are going to have our third annual poker run, Saturday, May 8th.

Take pride in this festival! It is a very good thing that all of us are doing. I encourage each of you to actively participate in furthering its’ success.
