Skiatook Bluegrass Association Newsletter

April, 2008Keeping you up-to-date!

Volunteers Needed at the Festival!

(Please Note:  This a repeat of yesterday's newsletter.  We're still struggling with the newsletter service to get all of the images to come through properly.  Hopefully the Fiddles 'n Vittles poster will make it this time.  Sometimes you get what you pay for ;-)

We still need many more volunteers to help us with staging the 2008 Skiatook Bluegrass Festival.  We need  volunteers to help:

  • Groom and prepare the festival grounds
  • Set up tents and canopies
  • Man the ticket tables and various booths
  • Direct traffic and parking
  • General errand running and gopher work
  • And much more

You can make a difference!  Contact Fern at 918- 633-5146 or email:  GStout1946@aol.com

Fiddles 'n Vittles Coming May 5

Our annual spring fundraiser, "Fiddles 'n Vittles", will be held at the Cross Timbers Marina on Skiatook Lake at 6:00 PM, Monday, May 5. (Need a map?) The Lakeside Grill will be serving up an array of epicurean delights, and the evening air will be filled with the award-winning music of the Rockin' Acoustic Circus and the all-time favorite tunes of the Zoograss Boys.  Please see the poster below for further details.

The fundraiser is a silent auction and open to all.  So if you have well-heeled friends, bosses, colleagues, etc., see if they'll buy a ticket.  Tickets are $50 a person for an evening of wonderful entertainment.  For reservations call Jamee at 918-585-6645 or email jamee@mtstulsa.com.  This will be a treat they won't want to miss!

Everyone can help with our fundraiser by contacting your favorite merchants, maybe even your boss, and asking them to donate items to our silent auction.  The more items we have to auction, the more money we'll make.  Anything (well - almost anything) is fair game.  Previous auction items have included autographed instruments signed by music luminaries, intimate dinners, jewelry, paintings, books, condos, and concerts by the Monroe Sisters, to name just a few.  You can download our letter, which describes the event, and distribute it to your local merchants and businesses.  Please go out and beat the bushes for auction items.  You can really help us out here.

(Download the full size version of this poster and distribute it in your area.  Thanks!)

Press Kit Available on Website

A "Press Kit" page (under General Interest on the left) has been added to our website.  It contains our collection of artwork (festival logos, posters, fliers, etc.) and several articles and documents.  All are available for download and can be distributed wherever possible.

Please forward this newsletter to your friends and colleagues who are not yet aware of our festival.  Thank you!
