New Director for Skiatook Bluegrass Festival

In the spring of 2008, Larry Nunley became the new director of the Skiatook Bluegrass Festival. Larry's duties begin with the final plans of organizing the festival for June, 2008. Larry has served as vice-president of the Skiatook Bluegrass Association.

If you check out the "Bands" section on the Skiatook Bluegrass Festival website, you will see Larry's picture with the Zoograss Boys. The Zoograss Boys have performed at various festivals, private events, as well as presenting a "Tradition of American Music" program at regional public schools.

Larry, retired Tulsa zoo director, worked at the Tulsa Zoo for 33 years. His present occupation is cattle ranching. A guest speaker at several civic club meetings, as well as Oklahoma State University, Larry's topic has been the roles that zoos play in wildlife conservation. He appears weekly on a local CBS affiliated news network, taking a zoo animal on the air to promote the Tulza Zoo and wildlife conservation.

Larry is a certified hunter safety instructor, focusing on hunter safety, ethics, and conservation. He has also served three terms as president of the Skiatook FFA Booster Club.
